We held 9 instead of 10 Repair Cafes in 2024, because of having to cancel the November one due to snow. During those 9 sessions a total of 285 items were dealt with. Of these 146 (51%) were repaired and 47 (17%) improved or advice about repair given. 40 items (14%) were taken away, e.g. because a part was required, and only 52 items (18%) – mostly electrical – could not be repaired. So approximately 200 items were prevented from going to landfill, which equates to a saving of about 6 tonnes of CO2 – interestingly the same number of items as in 10 sessions in 2023 so our impact is growing.
