BUXTON CARNIVAL, 16TH JULY 2011
Connie had a great day, and so did her escort - all of us clad in ridiculous costumes made of rubbish. She won first prize in the Most Original category, with a lovely cup for that, and came 3rd in the Adult Groups category as well, which won us a fiver.

We'd taken her down for a sleepover at Jean's on Lightwood Road the previous day, and that went pretty well until just before we got there, when one of the wheels on the office chair base that suports her collapsed. Oops! So a visit to Conways for nuts and bolts, and an afternoon of repairs. But on the day we had no such problems, and it was wonderful that so many people cheered her on her way.
